UTM Parser

Paste a campaign URL to read its UTM tags and every other query parameter as a clear, decoded table. Export as JSON. Runs in your browser.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to Zurl.

How to use the UTM Parser

  1. Step 1: Paste the campaign URL.

  2. Step 2: Read the UTM values and other parameters in the tables.

  3. Step 3: Copy or download the result as JSON.

What each UTM parameter means

  • utm_source — who sent the traffic: google, newsletter, facebook.
  • utm_medium — the channel: cpc, email, social.
  • utm_campaign — the campaign name.
  • utm_term — the paid search keyword.
  • utm_content — which of several links in the same campaign was clicked.
  • utm_id — a campaign ID, used for importing cost data.

Auditing campaign links

Inconsistent values are the most common reason campaign reports look fragmented. Parsing a handful of live links quickly shows whether one team writes Email and another email, or whether a required tag is missing. Fix them in the UTM builder, or strip them entirely with the UTM cleaner.

Frequently asked questions

What does the UTM parser show?
A summary of the campaign values (source, medium, campaign, term, content, id), a table of every utm_ parameter, and a separate table of all other query parameters. Values are decoded, so %20 appears as a space.
What if a UTM parameter appears twice?
Both occurrences are listed in the table, so you can spot the problem. The summary shows the first value, which is the one Google Analytics uses.
Are parameter names case-sensitive?
Analytics platforms generally treat UTM names case-insensitively, so UTM_Source is recognised. Values are case-sensitive in reports — “Facebook” and “facebook” appear as two sources — which is worth checking here.
Can I export the result?
Yes. Copy it as JSON or download a .json file containing the URL, its UTM values and every parameter.
