URL Parameter Remover
See every query parameter in a URL, tick the ones you do not want, and copy a clean link. Remaining parameters keep their exact encoding. Runs locally.
How to use the URL Parameter Remover
Step 1: Paste the URL.
Step 2: Tick the query parameters to remove.
Step 3: Copy the cleaned URL.
Anatomy of a query string
Everything after the ? in https://example.com/product?id=123&ref=abc is the query string. It is a list of name=value pairs separated by &. Some pairs select content (id=123); others only record where you came from (ref=abc).
Common reasons to remove parameters
- Sharing a product link without the affiliate or referral code attached.
- Removing session IDs or personal data before posting a link publicly.
- Finding the canonical form of a URL for SEO or deduplication.
- Debugging which parameter a page actually depends on.
For tracking parameters specifically, the UTM cleaner does it in one step. To see the whole URL broken into parts, use the URL parser.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I remove a parameter from a URL?
- Paste the URL, tick the parameters you want gone and copy the cleaned link. “Select tracking” ticks all utm_ tags and ad click IDs in one go; “Select all” removes the whole query string.
- Does removing parameters change the other ones?
- No. The remaining parameters keep their exact original text — same order, same encoding. The fragment (#section) is preserved too.
- Which parameters are safe to remove?
- Tracking parameters (utm_*, gclid, fbclid and similar) never affect what the page shows. Others — id, page, q, lang — often do. If removing one changes the page, put it back.
- What if the same parameter appears more than once?
- Each occurrence is listed separately, so you can remove one and keep the other.
